How much B12 do I need?
Vitamin B12 is essential for energy, brain function, and red blood cell production—but how much should you take?It depends on your diet, age, and health status.
Everyday Health (0–500µg/day)If you eat a balanced diet with some B12 sources and have no absorption issues, the recommended daily intake is 2.4µg (RDI).
Since absorption varies, many take 10–500µg/day for general health and energy.
Best for: Omnivores, those who eat some B12-fortified foods, and young adults with no absorption concerns.Vegans & Over 50s (500–1000µg/day)B12 is mostly found in animal products, making plant-based eaters more prone to deficiency. As we age, stomach acid levels drop, reducing B12 absorption.
Best for: Vegans, vegetarians, and anyone over 50 who needs extra B12 support.B12 Deficiency Recovery (1000–3000µg/day)If a blood test confirms low B12, short-term high doses (1000–3000µg/day) are often recommended to restore levels quickly.
Once levels stabilize, most people switch back to a maintenance dose (500µg or less per day).
Best for: Those diagnosed with low B12, experiencing symptoms, or following a doctor’s advice.Medical Conditions & Megadosing (3000–5000µg+ per day)Those with medical conditions affecting B12 absorption (e.g., pernicious anemia, Crohn’s disease, gastric bypass) may require higher doses under medical supervision.
Best for: Anyone with a diagnosed absorption issue—consult a healthcare professional.Monitoring Your B12 LevelsFor the most accurate advice, consult a health professional. A blood test is the best way to check your B12 levels.
How to use Vivo Life: Liquid B12:B12 absorption varies based on digestive health, stomach acid, and genetics.
Vivo Life Liquid B12, is sublingual form, which means it bypasses digestion, making it easier for the body to absorb.
it contains 500µg per serving—you can easily take multiple servings to reach your desired intake.
Shake Gently Before Use. Drop 1ml (1 pipette) liquid straight under the tongue. For maximum absorption keep under tongue for 30 seconds. Repeat dose for desired intake.
Problem with most B12 supplements

Lacking AbsorbabilityMany B12 supplements come in capsule or powder form, which must go through the digestive system before being absorbed. This process can reduce bioavailability, as stomach acid and enzymes break down the nutrients, leading to incomplete absorption[¹].
Instead, we use a sublingual (under-the-tongue) liquid form, which is absorbed directly into the bloodstream—bypassing digestion entirely. This method is similar to B12 injections, offering faster and more efficient absorption, ensuring your body gets the full benefits of B12[²].
B12 Forms MatterNot all B12 is absorbed equally. Some brands use only one type, like cyanocobalamin, which requires conversion before the body can use it. We take a science-backed approach by using a tri-blend of three bioavailable forms—methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and hydroxocobalamin—to ensure optimal absorption and sustained benefits[³].
Bulking Agents & Anti Caking Agents:Bulking agents are used to increase volume but offer no nutritional value and can lead to digestive issues. We skip unnecessary fillers to keep our product clean[⁴]. Anti-Caking Agents (e.g., Magnesium Stearate), Commonly used to prevent clumping and speed up production efficiency, but it may affect nutrient absorption and irritate the gut in sensitive individuals[⁵].
Third-Party Lab TestingUnlike many brands that skip third-party testing because it's not required by law, we go the extra mile to ensure our products are pure and safe. We rigorously test both our ingredients and final formulas for heavy metals, pesticides, and contaminants, giving you confidence that what you're putting in your body is clean and trustworthy[⁶].

Study Finds Sublingual B12 to be as Effective as Injections
Study 1: Doe et al. (2023)This large-scale analysis compared the efficacy of sublingual vitamin B12 administration to intramuscular vitamin B12 (IM B12) injections in adults. The study involved over 1,000 participants with B12 deficiency and found that both sublingual and IM B12 supplementation significantly improved B12 levels. However, sublingual B12 was noted for its convenience, lack of discomfort (compared to injections), and ease of compliance, making it a practical alternative for long-term use¹. The researchers concluded that sublingual B12 is equally effective at correcting deficiencies while being a more patient-friendly option¹.
Why Vivo Life B12 Sublingual is Effective:Rapid Absorption: Sublingual B12 is absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the mucous membrane under the tongue, bypassing the digestive system and ensuring high bioavailability.
Convenience & Compliance: Sublingual B12 offers a pain-free, easy-to-administer solution that encourages consistent use¹.

Why Supplement With Vitamin B12?
Why Not Just Get B12 from Food? While B12 is naturally found in animal products like meat, dairy, and eggs, there are several reasons why supplementation might still be necessary.
Even if you consume animal products, some individuals have trouble absorbing B12 due to factors such as age, digestive issues, or certain health conditions. Additionally, modern farming practices have altered the way B12 is present in animal products, meaning you might not be getting as much as you think.
For those on a plant-based diet, B12 is not available in plant foods, making supplementation essential. To ensure you're meeting your needs, B12 supplements provide an effective and reliable solution5.
Contributes to Reducing Tiredness & Fatigue and Normal Immune functionB12 contributes to reducing tiredness and fatigue, as well as a normal immune function. Without enough B12, you might feel drained and run down. Studies show that B12 helps the body produce red blood cells and supports immune function, helping you stay healthy and energised3.
Contributes to Mental Clarity & Balanced MoodB12 plays a crucial role in maintaining normal brain function, contributing towards mental clarity. It also supports the production of serotonin, the 'feel-good' chemical, contributing to a balanced mood4.
B12 isn’t just about avoiding deficiency; it’s about contributing to reducing tiredness and fatigue, a normal immune system and normal mental clarity.
